“As part of the government’s aggressive push for more energy efficient lighting options, the Department of Energy announced Friday it had awarded more than $37 million in stimulus funds for research and development projects that will help advance the market for products that use light-emitting diodes, or LEDs.”

This is good news for the increased used of LED lighting bulbs in businesses and offices and it shows that its becoming more accepted by authorites and people “in charge”. All different types of businesses are usnig it too such as web design companies and companies that provide curry recipes online. What do you all think of this?

Companies Using LED Lighting

There are a variety of providers of lighting to the business world and I thought that I would highlight some in more specific parts of the UK. In Bristol, there is this list of companies that provide lighting. There are quite a few companies in Bristol using LED lighting such as Executive Foundation, who provide leadership workshops in Bristol and many others incorporating this form of lighting to increase their profits and lighting efficiency.

The Rockefeller Xmas Tree Uses LED Lighting

As a fun blog post at Christmas, here is news that the Rockefeller Xmas tree is using LED lights to brighten it up for the first time this year. Many companies are starting to use LED lighting. Whether companies allow people to buy spices online or provide safety equipment, we think it looks great! What do you think? Here is a pic of the tree:

Great LED Lighting Based T-shirts

OK, so this may not quite be related to LED lighting for your business but I saw these t-shirts and couldn’t resist from putting them on this blog! Check out the t-shirts.

These t-shirts are a great example of what can be done with LED lighting. They are used to change the mood in a room, to light Christmas trees and a lot more! Has anyone else seen any great uses of LED lighting that they can point me to? LED lighting can be used in various places such as the kitchen of people that sell curry spices or others that sell insurance so there must be other great uses of this technology!

Led Lighting Prices Reducing

An interesting blog post on the fact that LED lighting prices are dropping over at yourledlighting.com. Various people have been asked and it seems as though the general opinion is that more people are buying and so the price is able to come down. This has been predicted by many people as its only natural with the various benefits that LED lighting provides means that its a very sensible decision to install this lighting, particularly in a business environment in which lights are often on for much of the day if not all day. Their flexibility is also a major factor in them being installed by many people as they offer more outdoor lighting options as well as lots of flexibility with regards to their various uses indoors so many companies and individuals, such as those that sell indian spices online or provide ENT surgery can feel comfortable buying it!

Crazy LED Lighting Applications

There are some mad bonkers applications for LED lighting outdoors and indoors. Here is a quick list of some of them:

LED Basketball
This basketball uses LED lighting to change colour! More of a fun use but it could also be used in places where light is a bit poor to make sure that everyone can see the ball! I’m not exactly sure what might have inspired the makers, whether they perform web design bath or nose surgery, to come up with this idea but it would be good if they could put a video on their site to show us what it looks like when used.

LED Pens
These have been around for a while but I still thought I would mention how people are using LEDs in them these days. One good use I thought was to create a bubble effect in the pen:

Whole Office Building Gets the LED Treatment

An office building in North Carolina has converted its office building to completely use LED lighting. Apparently, the bulbs use 48% less energy than traditional lighting. The company that has done this is called Cree and they specialise in solid state LED lighting and wanted to show that businesses can implement this form of lighting and maintain a viable business. The lighting before and after the LED lighting was installed also clearly show tht the light is much improved and is a great example of using led lighting in the office environment effectively. These companies may be rhinoplasty surgery or perform web design kent but they know for sure that they’ll have great lighting!
